If you are looking for a fun day out or a relaxing wander around – then The Hawk Conservancy Trust is the place to be. Set in 22 acres of woodland and wildflower meadow it is a beautiful haven for everyone.
On arrival you are handed a wristband, a passport for the little ones (these included family trails to complete when you are walking around) plus a leaflet detailing the times of the flying shows and a handy map. Throughout the summer holidays The Hawk Conservancy Trust have a trail in which you need to find 10 golden eggs to win a lollipop! This is great for kids as it gets them exploring!
Once on your way, you will not have to go far until you come across the first bird of prey. My, how magnificent they are! All birds are kept in large enclosures and were all well kept which is a lovely thing to see. The grounds are kept very clean and there is plenty of seating in the shade to shelter from the sun. There is a lovely restaurant on site all accompanied with a beautiful outside seating area to soak up the sun!
There are lots of other activities onsite too, an adventure play area, falconry shows, Ferret racing and pond dipping. There is also the opportunity to book from a handful of Photography or Bird of Prey experiences. The wildflower meadow looks beautiful in summer and a great place to sit back and relax and keep an eye out for Buzzards.
The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a great day out for all the family and we would highly recommend visiting – we will be returning!
